The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito Mk. VI was one of the most successful combat aircraft used during WWII. The Mosquito was a British twin-engine, shoulder-winged, multi-role combat aircraft constructed almost entirely of wood. It therefor gained a nickname, “The Wooden Wonder”. It utilized construction that was unheard of at the time -- spruce wood, plywood and balsa covered by a doped fabric. There were different versions manufactured including Fighter Aircraft, Fighter-Bomber Aircraft, Night Fighter Aircraft and Photo-Reconnaissance Aircraft.
