This new double-decker bus in the traditional red color and modeled after a London Routemaster is a must-have for block model collectors! COBI has faithfully reproduced this historic model in 1:35 scale. The Routemaster was brought into service in the early 1960’s. They were present on London streets until 2005 when, after winning the elections, the mayor of London decided to withdraw red buses from public transport because of passengers’ safety (each year a few passengers fell off the back platform). Today the Routemasters are a kind of entertainment for the British – Some buses have been turned into offices, cafes, etc. In 2008 the Routemasters returned in their traditional red color, but in latest generation it appears as the New Routemaster. Now you can build this traditional London bus with COBI blocks – it has all elements of a real Routemaster! In the bus there are passenger seats, entrance at the back of the bus, stairs leading to the upper part and a driver’s cabin. Thanks to an operable roof, the access to the bus is easier. It’s also possible to take off the upper part of the bus and put figures-passengers on the first floor.
